My skin always gets itchy in the winter, what should I do?
Winter brings many changes, and not just to the weather. A lot of times people deal with dry skin that leaves them itching all over. Here are a few tips on how to combat dry itchy skin:
•Avoid hot showers. Warm water will help prevent you from causing further dryness.
• If you can help it, focus on washing your private areas and try not to put soap everywhere everyday unless necessary. Yes I know, we were taught better than this however, unless you have a sulfate free hydrating body wash, the detergents in your wash can be making the issue worse.
• Make sure to lotion up while you are still a little damp this helps your skin to retain more moisture.
I have acne "down there" what should I do?
Don't be afraid to use your face wash where it's needed. Most times a basic body wash isn't helping you get rid of body acne so treat that area just like any other area and create a mini skincare routine to address your concerns. Or, look for an Esthetician and get a Vaga Facial.
How often should I be exfoliating?
It all depends on the type of exfoliation you are using. If you are using a scrub, 2-3 times a week should suffice. If you are using a very gentle chemical exfoliant you can apply it every day or as directed. Please remember that less is more and over exfoliating can be harmful to the skin and throw it off balance.
What is the purpose of toner?
Toner is an extra cleansing step that is great for those with oily skin, clogged pores or those that wear makeup or workout often.
Toner soothes and helps repair the surface of the skin and preps the skin for serums and other active ingredients.
